The co-founders of TKS are two brothers – Nadeem and Navid Nathoo. They wanted to build the program they wished they had growing up. They founded TKS on the belief that as a society we are not optimizing human potential, and if we unlocked the full potential of young people they could solve the world’s biggest problems.
TKS is designed to train young people to maximize their ability to make an impact in the world, inspired by successful CEOs and global leaders, while also mimicking the environments of disruptive companies like Google and SpaceX.
There are 4 components: science & tech, real-world challenges, hackathons and life skills. Sessions are project-based and highly interactive. Students learn about new technologies through discussions, case studies and presentations. They work with global companies (like the UN) to solve real problems. During hackathons, students use design sprints to develop new innovations. Finally, we introduce students to life philosophies like first principles, Stoicism, antifragility.
We have a digital platform (https://tks.life/) where all students have their own profiles and build masters-level projects. Each student has access to explore modules on 40+ exponential technologies, ranging from autonomous aerial vehicles, alternative energy, to synthetic biology.
TKS started as a pilot program in Calgary, Alberta four years ago. Since then, TKS has expanded to 7 cities across North America - Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, LA, New York, Boston, Las Vegas. We have an alumni network of 1200+ students from 20+ cities worldwide.
This past year, with the global pandemic at play, we successfully launched a global virtual program and enrolled over 120 students from across the world. In 2021, the Global Virtual Program will be tripling in size.
Our goal at TKS has always been to empower as many youths from around the world through our program so that we can help them unlock their potential and in turn, they can positively impact billions of people around the world.
TKS has been recognized in Forbes, Fast Company and by the World Economic Forum.
