Sofialeticia Morales Garza holds a degree in Spanish Literature from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Her graduate studies include a Master of Science in Education from the University of Kansas, a Master of Education from Harvard University, and a Doctorate in Education from the same university. She worked as Director of Academic Planning for the National Center for the Arts (1992-1994) and as General Director of International Relations for the Ministry of Public Education (1999-2000). From 2013 to 2018, she was General Director of Innovation and Strengthening of the Ministry of Public Education in Mexico City. In 2019, and until her appointment as Secretary of Education of Nuevo León, she worked as a Star Professor and Director of Education for Development at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
