About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

In order to expose our young learners to global collaboration we at DPS Varanasi, Nashik & Lava Nagpur,India decided to initiate a project that builds cultural understanding, communication skills, knowledge and awareness of the wider world. We are trying to provide ample amount of opportunities so that our learners learn to ACT LOCALLY AND THINK GLOBALLY!

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Our learners feel for the problem /identify the problem that is bothering them in their locality.
Yes. There are many evidences that show that their ideas helping people in their locality.
Yes , it uses technology. Our students use google forms, social media platforms to spread awareness about the issue chosen and also to inform the world the impact it has, on the people around.

How has it been spreading?

Completion of 4 cohorts have witnessed participation of students from more thann 15 countries across the globe. It has provided enough opportunities to SDG Champs our learners to enhance their confidence ,data collection skills, observation skills , research skills, collaboration skills , metacognition, critical thinking skills ,problem solving skills , listening skills, respect and appreciation for other cultures etc. Teams from different schools are learning to be aware of their localilty and are able to identify the problem that bothers them. Thereafter they follow 5- I model to solve the issue chosen locally and share the impact and the roadblocks with all. Plan for next 2-3 yeras -Advocacy for SDGs at various International forums.
