Open Positions: We are looking for interns!

We're looking for 1-3 full or part-time Interns to join HundrED at our Helsinki office. If you're passionate about innovation in education and would like to experience working for a global education organisation, we'd like to hear from you!

Who we are

HundrED is a Helsinki-based mission driven organisation that helps improve education through amplifying impactful and scalable innovations. We have researched over 5,000 innovations in over 150 countries and selected over 350 innovations in over 80 countries that are now part of our community. We select innovations through our annual Global Collection and several Spotlights each year in collaboration with our partners.


About the role

The HundrED Intern participates in identifying and amplifying innovations, communicating with innovators, evaluating innovations, writing reports, conducting research, and recruiting the Academy. We offer interns the possibility to connect their Master’s Thesis to our research.  

Interns are paid at least the minimum wage as defined by KELA, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (€ 1,331 per month for full-time work in 2023). Internship placement is for 3 months of full or part-time work at our Helsinki office in the Spring or Summer 2024.


Candidates should have:

  • A positive attitude and willingness to take the initiative to get things done
  • Desire and energy to work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively within and across teams 
  • High attention to detail, organisation, and quality of work product
  • High standards for quality and integrity of research
  • Passion, interest, and research experience in improving education
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Discernment to prioritise effectively between many different workstreams
  • Willingness and aptitude to take on new challenges and adapt to change (e.g. new types of research, methodologies, projects, tools, and partners)
  • Natural curiosity and desire to improve how things are done


Responsibilities

  • Interface with innovators 
  • Discover and research leading innovative solutions and practices across the spectrum of education (e.g. teacher education, skills, assessment, etc.)
  • Contact leading innovators from all corners of the globe and create clear, informative innovation pages on our website 
  • Amplify the work of innovators
  • Facilitate the innovation review process with HundrED Academy and Advisory Board members, and facilitate the selection process 
  • Coordinate and cooperate with members of the HundrED team
  • Participate in the production of all research reports, including researching, writing, and editing
  • Respond to questions and comments from innovators about our research projects

Requirements

  • Must have working rights in Finland
  • Must be able to work in-person at our Helsinki office
  • Must be enrolled in a Master’s Degree Programme
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal professional fluency in English). Additional languages are a plus.
  • Familiarity with online working tools like Zoom, Miro, Loom etc. Ability to work with AI tools is a plus.
  • Expertise in Google Suite, including Google Doc, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Participation or experience working in community-based organisations, school systems, and diverse communities is considered a plus.
