He is the founder and executive director of the innovative Afghan NGO Skateistan, which has become an international NGO using skateboarding as a tool for youth empowerment in Afghanistan and Cambodia. Skateistan's programming focuses especially on the involvement of girls and on providing educational opportunities to marginalised youth.
