MARKED has held the purpose of aiming to give every student an equal opportunity to learn about themselves and develop skills for life. Indeed, there is a large gap between what is being taught in most schools and homes and the skills youths need to face daily challenges. MARKED is the solution to bridging this gap by a solution that gives the opportunity to grow to and act like a changemaker.
MARKED’s gamified program Everyone is a changemaker can be found in MARKED’s own app. We give the participants their own codes to log in to the app. From the app users will find the program and add their teammates into their course platform. Through the program users will learn important socio-emotional skills, but the “why” for learning these skills is that they get to use those skills for a deed they choose to do that brings good to the world. After going through the program and by making the first deed users receive micro credentials and a diploma. After that they are free to make deeds again in their selected category. In the app users can follow their journey by our point system. In the course platform users can give feedback for each other and also share the deed around the world and make them visible. By this we want to give the users the feeling of capability and purpose which is by research one of the best ways to increase well-being.
MARKED was developed together with students and teachers at 2022 and have now started to spread its wings. Our product is available for youth centers, schools from middle school to universities and for companies. Also individuals can start to use MARKED on their own. We are part of two different EU-project with our program and this coming autumn MARKED will be seen in a couple of big universities of applied science in Finland. This autumn we'll also start international work.
