About the innovation

Young people come out ot a life of isolation to become creators of bonds and guardians of life

What we do?

It is a community practice that takes place in a circle and provides experiences ranging from organic Earth Paintings to Land Art. It speaks directly to the heart and hands of children and young people and makes them "fall in love" with the Web of Life through observation, rhythms, presence, creativity and awareness. The creative process is based on three steps: collect; transform nature into organic colors and crafted tools; co-create.

From an educational point of view, the practice enhances and enriches the relational qualities (sensitivity, patience, active listening, intuition, reciprocity, care, gratitude, kindness, communication), allowing them to come out of a life of isolation and feel themselves creators of bonds and guardians of life.

As a form of environmental education, it concretely explores the themes of biodiversity, cyclical nature of life and interdependence with the aim of developing a real ecological intelligence.

On a creative and expressive level, this practice can strengthen self-esteem and intuition, foster emotional expression and promote confidence and the discovery of one's talents. Everyone experiences a unique contribution to the service of the community. It develops a 360-degrees creative intelligence: stimulates the right hemisphere, balances brain activity, encourages bilateral, motor and multisensory coordination.

Why we do it?

This synergetic practice serves to heal the sense of separation from nature that afflicts contemporary societies helping young people to feel more concrete and rooted, belonging to a larger living organism with which it is possible to build a balanced, rich and vibrant relationship, as partners.

EarthPainting is a versatile practice, a matrix of sustainable bonds, which adapts itself to various educational contexts, both in schools as a subject of environmental education, and intergenerational version in local communities.
Tapping into the power of beauty and wonder allows young people to acquire new essential tools to emotionally navigate the waves of this challenging historical moment. This leads to a more holistic and ecosophical view of the world, connecting to the ancestral wisdom in a contemporary key.

The founder of the practice is the French Marianne Cordier: Counselor, Art Counselor, Art Therapist, Creative Coach and Artist who has worked with children, teenagers and their parents for more than 10 years in Rome.
