Claire Hedges is Directorate Member and Manager of the Centre for the Study of Global Development at The Open University, UK. The Directorate team establishes and guides the Centre’s research strategy, vision and values. These are to advance aspects of the sustainable development goals within and across all countries that relate to poverty, health, wellbeing, education, decent jobs, and employment, through inter-disciplinary, inclusive and innovative research that showcases localised conceptualisations of and approaches to development.
Claire co-led The Open University’s component of English in Action (EIA), and is currently a co-investigator for
the Mobile Learning for Empowerment of Marginalised Mathematics Educators (3Mpower) research project in Bangladesh.
