Young people needs forums to make their voices be heard. We need to collaborate when we try to solve community, societal and planetary challenges. We wanted to build bridges between local and global youth, so young people can connect with like-minded across the globe, and find support in a quest to make the world a more peaceful and sustainable place.
Our program is science based, and we take inspirations from positive psychology, applied neuroscience, the IB, recent research within the areas of the future of learning and the future of work. We base the hackathon on our AHA! Skills Playbook, based on the skills that help young people thrive https://ahaacceleratingeducation.org/#skills Here are a few examples of films the participants made at our first hackathon that was geared onto the future of education: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4nLzqtjNqWWkRqEMiP51o0vh8K_xS05c We have also done Peacekeepers, GameChangers and next is Youth Well-Being. We are in constant dialogue with young people as we work at an international school.
We have had participants from some very progressive schools and institutes: the Netherlands ( Agora) , Germany ( Hammerbrooklyn Youth Innovation Centre), India ( Vega Schools), School of Humanity, International School of Helsingborg ( Sweden), Denmark (Copenhagen International School), Shaftesbury School ( via Alex More), Coconut Thinking/Thailand ( via Benjamin Freud) . We collaborated with Learnlife for our first hackathon, and got sponsorship from our city's Visionsfund for innovation in education. We are asked to speak about it in podcasts, education forums. Goals are to build a glocal hub, which is the go to place for youth entrepreneurshiphttps://www.k12digest.com/how-entrepreneurship-equips-learners-with-skills-to-become-the-game-changers-the-world-needs-now/ to support youth
