The current climate has opened our eyes to free, online learning resources that children around the world can access. However, it is not always easy to find the right channel or video to start with. Here is a list of ten high-quality education channels on Youtube that parents and educators can use to help with remote learning!
1. Khan Academy
Khan Academy is a personalized learning resource for all ages tackling math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom.

2. TEDed
To support the millions of students, parents and teachers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, TED-Ed is working with expert educators and TED speakers throughout the world to create and share high-quality, interactive, video-based lessons on a daily basis, for free. TED-Ed’s commitment to creating lessons worth sharing is an extension of TED’s mission of spreading great ideas. Within TED-Ed’s growing library of TED-Ed animations, you will find carefully curated educational videos, many of which represent collaborations between talented educators and animators nominated through the TED-Ed website.
3. National Geographic Education

4. Google Arts and Culture
Discover Google Arts & Culture collections through the eyes of YouTube creators and music artists: dive into +50 collaborations showcasing iconic institutions and cultural gems from the Versailles Palace and Guggenheim museum, to the Holi festival and endangered food.
5. Headspace for Kids
Many families and children have been separated from their peers and school communities because of the novel Coronavirus increasing their reliance on online distance learning. An important reality to be considered in today's distressing time is the transactional & emotional distance between the learner and the teacher. Headspace for kids reminds both kids and families to take time for ourselves. Many videos on meditation as well as mini practices available for free on their Youtube channel!
6. Global Oneness Project
The Global Oneness Project brings the world's global cultures alive in the classroom. They provide award-winning films and photo essays that explore cultural, social, and environmental issues and accompanying lesson plans using stories as a pedagogical tool to inspire growing minds. All videos come with lesson plans, for free.
7. LEGO Discover
The official LEGO channel for LEGO bricks and play lovers and everyone who likes to find about the world around them! On this channel, you will find cool LEGO Robots builds, videos on fun challenges that you have to use your brain to solve and your life questions answered with LEGO bricks From questions from how do rollercoasters work to how far is it to the moon- you can find it answers to many concepts using LEGO bricks and LEGO Stop Motion!
8. Code.org
Code.org is a non-profit dedicated to expanding participation in computer science education by making it available in more schools, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer programming. We believe computer science should be part of the core curriculum in education, alongside other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, such as biology, physics, chemistry and algebra.
9. Crash Course Kids
This bi-weekly show from the producers of Crash Course is all about grade school science. Join Sabrina Cruz, their host to eplore the Earth, Habitats, Space, Chemical Reactions, Engineering, and much much more. This series begins with 5th-grade science, so you can easily find videos on Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, Geography, Engineering, and Astronomy.
10. Go Noodle
GoNoodle videos get kids moving to be their strongest, bravest, silliest, smartest, bestest selves. Over 14 million kids each month are dancing, stretching, running, jumping, deep breathing, and wiggling with GoNoodle. Parents use parts of your quarantined day to turn screen time into active time, burn off extra energy on bad days, calm kids down before bedtime or exercise the whole family… together!
There is no dearth of amazing content out there but hopefully, this list serves as a good starting point for families and educators striving to support young learners worldwide.
